“Road Diet” In Hazel Park
After nearly four years, work on the Hazel Park Way will finish the Summer of 2024. Project Engineer Troy Nuccio, P.E. and Curtis Robb have been hard at work designing and managing the construction of this project which includes bike lanes, sharrows (shared lane markings), improved signage, and increased safety features that promote walkability along John R Road, from Hazelcrest Place to 10 Mile Road. The routes connect the Cities of Detroit, Ferndale, Warren, and Madison Heights with the City of Hazel Park.
The “Road Diet” allows for safer streets and more access for all users – pedestrians and bicyclists. Federal funds from the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) were used for this MDOT project.
