Hazel Park Way

Hennessey Engineers is working collaboratively with the City of Hazel Park to create 2.8 miles of bicycle routes that will provide safe, non-motorized pathways throughout the entire city. The MDOT project will install bike lanes along John R with shared lanes, using sharrows, and along the entire stretch of Woodward Heights, which will provide marked bike routes from John R to Felker Park.

These three routes provide alternative transportation connections to the Cities of Detroit, Ferndale, Warren, and Madison Heights. The project includes bike lanes, pedestrian safety enhancements within the Downtown Corridor, improved signage, and safety features.

The project is part of a TAP Award providing 80% of the funds needed for this project. Local funds provided the additional 20%.
