Hennessey Engineers President Chairs First Step’s Gala

Hennessey Engineers President Joan E. Hennessey, C.P.A. was recently named Honorary Chair of the “2023 You Are the Light Gala” to support First Step, an organization created to ensure peaceful families and safe communities in Wayne County, Michigan.

“I am thrilled to be named Honorary Chair of the 2023 You Are the Light Gala,” said Ms. Hennessey. “I hope to help raise awareness of First Step’s mission and its services as they are vital to helping victims of domestic and sexual violence.”

The gala will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Laurel Manor in Livonia, Michigan. Monies raised will help support free services, such as shelter, transitional housing, counseling, legal information, children’s programs, and assault response. The gala will also honor key people who have made a significant contribution to First Step’s mission.

First Step is a non-profit agency that provides comprehensive services for victims of domestic and sexual violence. Since 1978, it has actively worked toward creating a community where respect, fair treatment, comprehensive support, and social justice are available to all survivors of domestic and sexual assault and their families.
